What to do after completing Beyond Ragnarok: An Epic Post-Game Guide

So you‘ve witnessed the emotional finale of God of War Ragnarok‘s main campaign in Beyond Ragnarok. But this marks only the end of one journey, not the conclusion of your overall odyssey across the Nine Realms. There‘s still an epic amount of content left undiscovered for even the most seasoned warriors…

New Environments Hold Exciting Post-Game Loot

Upon starting the next chapter, speaking with everyone‘s favorite squirrel pal Ratatoskr at Sindri‘s House grants you Yggdrasil Seeds to unlock passageways into exciting new environments:

Jotunheim – Realm of the Giants

  • Home to the Jotnar people thought long extinct
  • Contains giant-sized weapons and armor
  • Face icy new foes like Frost Phantoms

Sanctuary Grove – Lush Midgard Forest

  • Forage special life-replenishing Apples
  • Gorgeous scenic views
  • Take in the epic mural retelling Atreus‘ journey

Mist Fields – Deadly Fog Realm

  • Brave poisoning mists in search of treasure
  • Chance to finish unfinished business…
  • Terrifying new enemies await in the haze

Each area houses challenging new threats guarding epic crafting materials for top-level gear, making them well worth exploring thoroughly.

My Tip: Be sure to utilize the Yggdrasil Seeds to unlock convenient fast travel access points directly into each new zone! This makes return trips much quicker when gathering collectibles.

40+ Hours of NEW Side Content Still Remaining

You likely still have a plethora of non-playable character (NPC) Favor quests still unfinished on your journey. These lengthy multi-stage quest chains add tons of juicy extra content outside the main story arcs.

  • There are over 40 Favors dotted across the realms
  • Average playtime per Favor is 45-60 minutes
  • Difficulty ratings range from Easy to Very Hard
FavorLocationAvg. LengthDifficulty
The Lost TreasureSvartalfheim1 hrHard
In Service of AsgardVanaheim40 minsMedium
The DeserterMidgard1 hr 15 minHard

With the full map now freely explorable, allot time to revisit each region and NPC to finish their unique character-driven storylines.

Hunt Down the Valkyrie Queen

Gain access to Muspelheim with your new Yggdrasil Seeds and prepare for a fiery showdown with Gna – the menacing Valkyrie Queen. This aggressive winged warrior will test your combat skills to their very limits!

  • Relentless wing/scythe attacks
  • Utilizes ice, poison, fire magic
  • Special armor-breaking grab
  • Extensive health bar

But the reward for toppling this intense adversary is sweet: the powerful Valkyrie Armor set, delivering excellent all-around protection. It‘s a must-have for the discerning warrior.

My Tip: Use Spartan Rage immediately at the start to maximize damage output before she shields up!

Locate Hidden Berserker Monster Lairs

While exploring across the realms, keep an eye out for mysterious chambers marked by the Berserker symbol. Unlocking these sealed rooms allow you to take on ultra-challenging Berserker Gravestone bosses for epic crafting materials.

There are only a handful located, but defeating these intense adversaries grant rare items for crafting Davidian Steel – end game level upgrade components. You‘ll need these to max out your weapons and armor!

My Tip: The Stonefall in Midgard houses two back-to-back Gravestones! Be sure to come prepared with ample health/rage stones before breaching.

Uncover All of Odin‘s Elusive Ravens

  • 48 total ravens located across all realms
  • Perched in extremely hidden locations
  • Shoot them to upgrade health regeneration

Finding and eliminating all of Odin‘s pesky spies scattered about earns you the handy Mark of the Raven – an ability granting health regeneration even during combat exchanges!

But spotting these sneaky blackbirds can be quite tricky given their small size and placement in hard-to-see areas. Use all of Atreus or Sindri‘s sonic location abilities and keep an eagle eye out!

|| Realm || # Ravens ||
|-|-|-|-|
| Midgard | 15 | Vanaheim | 5 |
| Svartalfheim | 7 | Alfheim | 4 |
| Muspelheim | 4 | Helheim | 4 |
| Niflheim | 5 | Jotunheim | 4 |

My Tip: Starting in Midgard is smart to nab the higher density of ravens earlier. Also, feed squirrels creatures to help reveal hidden paths leading to some!

Brave Muspelheim‘s Impossible Trials

For the ultimate post-game challenge, unlock and survive the Impossible Trials combat arena located in fiery Muspelheim. This dramatically intensified horde mode will test every fiber of your combat prowess!

  • Multi-phase onslaught of enemies
  • Survive for 45 minutes
  • Minimal healing options
  • 1-2 hits equal death

But the reward for persevering through this epic battlefield endeavor is the excellent Sigrun‘s Scorched Armor Set.

  • 65 Defense
  • 45 Strength
  • 45 Luck
  • 45 Vitality

This perfectly balanced armor also provides a unique Perk increasing Runic damage after dodging attacks. Equipping it turns you into a true heavy metal combat machine!

Is There Even More Story After the Credits?

Without going into true spoiler territory, yes – God of War Ragnarok does contain one additional secret ending scene for players to unlock if you…

My Tip: >!Return to Sindri‘s House after the credits and head downstairs to trigger it!!<

This extra epilogue provides wonderful closure for our characters following the heart-wrenching finale. It‘s absolutely worth watching!

And while the future for Kratos and Atreus remains uncertain past this installment, the astronomical success of this moving Viking saga all but guarantees players will wield the Blades of Chaos again down the road.

For now, wanderers still have an incredible amount of epic post-campaign content to explore before our heroes embark on their next mythic journey!
