Where is Spider in Destiny 2 Season 18?

As a long-time Destiny content creator and Spider enthusiast, I‘ve been eagerly awaiting his return to the game. Here‘s the scoop on the cunning Fallen crime boss‘ new location in Season 18 and why he‘s once again wheeling and dealing with Guardians.

Spider‘s Winding Path Back to Destiny 2

Spider, the leader of a Fallen syndicate, previously set up shop in the Tangled Shore destination following the events of the Forsaken expansion in 2018. He quickly became a fan-favorite vendor for offering bounties and serving as the game‘s black market dealer of planetary destination materials.

However, his hub in the Shore was permanently placed in the Destiny Content Vault when The Witch Queen launched in February 2022, to players‘ dismay. According to Bungie, the game‘s size had to be reduced for technical reasons and to focus development resources on new content.

His services temporarily shifted to Master Rahool in the Tower, but Spider himself vanished from the game for several seasons, his whereabouts unknown.

That changed with the shocking reveal during the Season of Plunder opening mission in August 2022 that Spider had transported his entire syndicate into the Last City while factions were in disarray. Ever the opportunist, he looked to establish a new stronghold and regain influence as events unfolded.

Spider‘s New Home in the Eliksni Quarter

Now, in Season 18, Spider firmly resides deep in the Eliksni Quarter of the Last City, ready to peddle his wares. Specifically, players can locate him by:

  • Spawning at the Eliksni Quarter fast travel point
  • Heading left towards the back corner of the zone
  • Identifying the large Ether Tank structure adorned with Spider‘s unmistakable logo
  • Following the path downstairs inside the tank to find Spider stationed within

Based on early player traffic data, the Eliksni Quarter is now the third most popular destination in Destiny 2 specifically because of the draw of Spider and his assortment of offerings.

What Spider Sells in Season 18

As expected, Spider has resumed his position as the leading vendor for planetary destination materials from locations like the Moon, Dreaming City, and Savathûn‘s Throne World.

He still facilitates exchanges for currencies like Legendary Shards, Glimmer, and Planetary Materials at shifting daily rates. And his collection of Black Market bounties provide opportunities to earn additional loot.

Most importantly, I anticipate Spider having a larger role in the narrative based on secrets and schemes alluded to in Season of Plunder lore. Perhaps he makes power plays that shake up the hierarchy of Last City factions. Time will tell!

For now, just know that Spider is firmly back in the mix and ready to take your hard-earned materials off your hands. Take a trip to see the best Eliksni gangster a Guardian could ask for by paying him a visit in Destiny 2 Season 18.

Personal Predictions on Spider‘s Future

Given Spider‘s proven shrewdness and survival instincts, I expect the criminal mastermind to cement himself as an enduring vendor and ally for years to come. While he often works to selfishly enrich himself, he views partnerships with Guardians as too valuable to risk losing.

My bet is he leverages knowledge of Mithrax‘s past (they have history together) to blackmail the House of Light leader for mutual benefit. Nothing would make the slippery opportunist happier than having the freedom to run illicit enterprises out of sight right under humanity‘s nose.

For those like me eagerly following this narrative, our old eight-eyed friend is back where he belongs. Stay tuned for more updates as 2023 unfolds!
