Where to Score Level 60 Job Armor with Style

Reaching level 60 and getting that sleek artifact armor is a rite of passage in FFXIV. But between quest rewards, vendors, upgrades, and more – tracking down a set can get confusing. Never fear! As a seasoned SMN main, I‘ve gathered all the insider knowledge you‘ll need to find the perfect gear on your journey to 60 and beyond.

Job Quest Coffers – For Your Initial Set

Finishing up your stirring level 60 job quest with an NPC proudly announcing you‘re a true "___"? Congrats! They should then hand you a nifty coffer containing your full left-side armor set too. Equip it right away to look the part.

This job quest reward will serve as your initial armor baseline. However, further upgrades will surpass this base level 60 gear.

Centurio Seals – Buying Duplicate Sets

Yolaine at The Forgotten Knight sells pieces for 100-500 Centurio Seals each if you want to reobtain a set. Great for gearing alternate jobs. But earning enough seals takes time – be prepared to grind those hunt marks!

I‘d only recommend seals for duplicate sets or missing pieces. Use the other methods first.

Allagan Tomestones of Poetics – Topping Item Levels

Here‘s where you‘ll get the best bang for your buck. After reaching Heavensward, poetic tomestone vendors start carrying previous expansion armor like the Ironworks sets.

The downside? Tomes take time to accumulate at level 60 cap. I‘d farm these after getting your base armor from the quest while working towards higher levels and content.

Upgrading to Item Level 260 With Shire Gear

To push beyond the base level 60 pieces, you can upgrade them to higher item level (IL) tiers:

Getting your gear to IL 260 should be your first major goal before tackling higher level content. Here‘s an overview of one popular option:

The Shire set costs Allagan Tomestones of Poetics from vendors, along with special upgrade items obtained from raids or beast tribe quests. Take both to an NPC in Idyllshire named Seika to upgrade.

With some perseverance grinding poetics and upgrades, a full augmented Shire set results in solid IL 260 armor and weapons across left side, right side, and both accessory slots – perfect to push into Stormblood!

Mix and Match For Maximum Style

Glamour prisms let you change gear appearance while maintaining stats. I often use them to customize a stylish look.

For example, I glam my Shire robe into the iconic Summoner AF2 artifact robe to get the best of both worlds – IL 260 stats and sweet style!

The same concept applies to maintaining your job‘s signature look as you upgrade. Change appearance to keep that sleek feel while boosting attributes.

Capping Off Your Look with Weapons and Accessories

Job armor covers the left side slots, but don‘t neglect weapons and accessories! Those final touches complete the outfit.

Weapons also come from your level 60 job quest, or tomestone vendors for upgrades. Some even have lux anima forms unlocked via special relic weapon quest chains.

For the right side jewelry, snag accessories from dungeons, raids, or tomestone traders as well.

Now go dazzle Eorzea with a totally put together look! No one will ever guess your average item level with such style.

Top Poetics And Seals Farming Spots

If grinding tomes or seals for poetics seems intimidating, these are my favorite spots to rack them up quickly:

Tomestones

  • Leveling and alliance raid roulettes
  • Aetherochemical Research Facility
  • Final coil raids if you can tackle them

Seals

  • Daily hunt mark bills
  • A and S rank elite marks

Knock out dailies and grind dungeons while queued to rake in plenty. For more in-depth tips, I‘ve written separate guides on gathering both currencies.

So don‘t be afraid to play the long upgrades game! With the right strategies, you‘ll gear up in no time while looking oh so stylish. For the latest tips and glam inspiration, stay tuned to my blog and channel!
