Who is Zeus‘s Father? An Epic Gaming Origin Story

In the gaming pantheon of badass Greek gods, Zeus ranks as a top-tier character with hardcore lightning powers and a conquest story worthy of a game trilogy. But before rising to rule Mount Olympus, Zeus comes from tainted bloodlines.

Zeus‘s Family Tree: The Titans

Zeus‘s father is Cronus – a Titan boss with cruel magic powers and some major daddy issues. See, Cronus‘s own father was Uranus (the literal sky), who didn‘t treat his kids too nicely. So Cronus hatched a plan to overthrow him with a special harvesting sickle crafted by his mom Gaea (the earth goddess).

When Uranus was vulnerable, Cronus struck – slicing and dicing his father‘s genitals! Ouch. This could be a brutal finishing move in God of War. The blood from Uranus‘s wound actually birthed the Furies and Giants – two more badass monster groups.

With his father defeated, Cronus became king of the Titans and the cosmos. But a prophecy said one of his children would overthrow him too. So the new Titan boss devised a nasty strategy…he ATE each child as it was born!

(Rhea hates this technique BTW.)

That brings us to our main man Zeus.

Introducing Zeus: Hidden God of Lightning

Zeus was the youngest son of Titans Cronus and Rhea. Maybe you can guess what would have happened if lil‘ Zeus was born normally. Chomp! Gobble gobble!

But cunning Rhea pulls off a stealth mission by hiding baby Zeus on Crete island. She tricks Cronus into eating a decoy baby (ouch again), buying Zeus time to reach max level.

Raised in a secret cave, Zeus (1⁄2 Titan + 1⁄2 Elder God) starts stacking lightning damage and building his alliance…

Zeus Overthrows Cronus to Rule Mount Olympus

After a decade long boss fight with the Titans, Zeus and the Olympians come out on top. They defeat Cronus and the Titans to claim Mount Olympus as their stronghold and new Pantheon HQ. Zeus locks many Titans deep underground in Tartarus – including his cruel father.

As king of gods and men, Zeus holds the ultimate weapon – the Master Bolt. He can unleash XXL lightning blasts with insane DPS from anywhere on the planet. This makes Zeus a long-range powerhouse that you do NOT want to piss off!

With the Master Bolt and his aerial mobility, I‘d rank Zeus at least 9.5/10 on offensive capabilities..plus he stacks Intelligence and Charisma stats. He‘s easily god-tier when compared to other myth units:
